Birmingham Mind has been offering person centred mental health services to adults in the Midlands since 1962. They are affiliated to National Mind, the largest Mental Health Charity in England and Wales, and currently support over 4000 individuals experiencing mental distress.
Birmingham Mind aims to provide high quality services and challenge the stigma that surrounds mental distress. Services include supporting people with mental health difficulties from low level prevention services to highly supported services for people with complex needs.
Birmingham Mind is by far the largest voluntary sector provider of mental health services within Birmingham. The charity has an impressive track record of providing services for over 3000 service users which offer people real choice and control in their lives.
Their vision is that people are in control of their lives and this aspiration emphasises the need to build upon people’s strengths underpinned at all times by a well-established recovery approach.

Why are we supporting them:
“One in four people will experience a mental health problem in any given year”
When faced with facts such as this we felt the topic of mental health should be propelled into the forefront of our awareness. It affects everyone, regardless of age, health and position in life but only 25% of people with a mental health problem are estimated to receive support each year.
We wanted to raise money on behalf of a charity who are pushing for brilliant people-orientated, informed, and understanding services to be provided to a wide spectrum of affected people.
Keep an eye out for collection boxes at #BrumBW18 events, please give generously.
